Journal — October 2019

Father Coffee opened in 2013 and has been at the forefront of South Africa’s coffee industry ever since. They consistently work with really delicious beans from great producers all over the world, and we’ve chosen some of our current favorites to share with you guys this month.

The Boji Semi-Shade #16, which is going out to everyone, is a delightful coffee that can only be described as perfect. It has that tea-like subtle sweetness I want in an Ethiopian coffee, while still balancing that with all the sweetness and juice needed to round it out. Our Cafe Box subscribers are in for a special treat, as the Thageini Natural #1 is a very surprising, unique coffee that we can’t get enough of. Originally, we planned to celebrate Africa with four coffees from there, but the Alko Kerinci and Don Eli Double-Washed were too good to pass up. Tell us what you’re liking most!
